My Experiences
A Moment of Advocacy: Speaking Up for the Community

As a teenager, I had the opportunity to speak up for something that was crucial to my community. When the City of Irvine confirmed that the All American Asphalt plant had ceased production, I had already been involved in raising concerns about the plant’s impact on our health and environment.

I remember speaking in court; it wasn’t just my voice, but the voice of my peers—those often overlooked in such matters. That moment was incredibly powerful, as I knew this wasn’t just a legal case, but a chance to ensure our concerns were taken seriously and to create a future we could all be proud of.

The result was a victory for all of us: the asphalt plant was ultimately closed, and our community took an important step toward a healthier, safer environment. This experience taught me the importance of speaking out for what is right, regardless of age, and that change is possible when we work together.

Collaborating with U.S. Art & Design

Visit at Getty museum with students

During my collaboration with U.S. Art & Design, I had the opportunity not only to teach children how to draw but also to accompany them on several enriching museum study trips. These activities helped the children improve their drawing skills while fostering a deeper love and understanding of art. I provided in-depth guidance, from the basics to the creative process, helping them find their own voice and way of expression through art. Through this interaction, I didn’t just teach skills—I inspired them to think about the relationship between art and life.
One of the highlights of these activities was the museum study trips, which I’m particularly proud of. During these trips, I organized visits to various exhibitions, allowing the children to experience and feel the charm of different artworks firsthand. By engaging with the art, the children gained a deeper understanding of its meaning and were inspired by the passion and curiosity to create their own works.

Teaching
Running Social Media Accounts
In addition to teaching and organizing activities, I also managed the official social media accounts for U.S. Art & Design. Through careful planning and content creation, I helped the organization establish a broader presence on social platforms. By posting studio posters and event updates, I attracted more participants and effectively interacted with the community, promoting the importance of art education. This experience not only allowed me to gain valuable skills in social media management and brand development, but also deepened my understanding of the immense potential of art education and how it can connect people and inspire their creativity.
